The camp is set on a hill, gently sloping to the South Twin shore. The lake is ideal for camp activities. Clear and clean, with a sand bottom, the lake is perfect for swimming, boating, skiing and sailing.
The cabins are modern and comfortable. Each cabin houses 8-12 girls under the supervision of 2 counselors. The cabins each have bathrooms, closets and porches. A central shower house with individual shower areas provides for private shower needs.
We have a full-time nurse or medic on staff. Our health center provides a clinic and isolation area. We also have excellent physician and clinic care within a few miles of camp.
Our activity facilities are excellent. With 5 tennis courts, 2 basketball courts, 3 volleyball courts, soccer and softball fields, our sports facilities offer great facilities for the sports enthusiast.
Campers that love gymnastics and dance will be thrilled with our indoor dance and gymnastics center. We are one of the few private girls camps with a gymnastics center of this caliber. The entire floor area is padded and carpeted for safety. We offer gymnastics, floor exercise, dance, and fitness classes in the “gym”.
The main lodge houses our offices and dining areas and features a stunning panoramic view of the grounds and lake. Birch Knoll is known for its beauty and outstanding facilities!
If you're crazy about water skiing (the campers' favorite activity), you will find our ski program is second to none. With 4 boats, two separate ski areas, and outstanding instruction, we can definitely teach you to ski in a hurry or get you to the next level if you already ski. We also offer Wakeboarding, a great new activity similar to snowboarding.
Our fine arts program includes 2 buildings housing outstanding equipment and facilities for jewelry, pottery and art workshop. We are unique in that we offer a full jewelry program that includes designing, cutting, soldering, polishing, casting, etc. You’ll be proud of the jewelry you bring home from camp!
Camp Birch Knoll was founded in 1946 and has been family owned and operated by The Baier Family for 50 years, with 3 generations now filling key leadership roles at camp.

It's hard to put into words how great the time we had here was. This far exceeded our expectations. Everything we have done here has been phenomenal and has created memories that will last. Cabin 3A, 2009
Thank you for putting up with me, giving me a home and my heaven on earth, and helping me find my sisters. I can’t put into words how much camp truly means to me. Faith Ferber
At home, it seems like a lifetime until I am fortunate enough to hop back on the bus to CBK. But, when I am here, it seems unfair that camp goes by so quickly. Rebecca Elowe
Birch Knoll has been a “life-changing” experience for Molly. There is something about your camp that she loves and cherishes and all the memories she has had will stay with her forever. Lisa Weber
